Inspired by the Berlin fashion label Kaviar Gauche, the new Artdeco collection for spring/summer 11/12 mixes coral lips with a classically natural look suitable for every day.
The elegant, understated "Beauty meets Fashion" spring/summer look 2012 is charming, chic, easy to wear and an all-time classic with a twist: let’s see how it’s done!
FACE
After your skincare regime as usual, apply Makeup Base to smooth out your skin and create a smooth base for your foundation. Let it settle for a few seconds, and then apply Long Lasting Foundation Oil Free SPF 20 very lightly on the entire face with your favorite brush or sponge. This foundation has good coverage and a supple texture, but sometimes I like to sheer it out by mixing it in with the Makeup Base, and applying it with my fingertips much as I would with a moisturizer. This will create a dewier finish, and is a good alternative if you don’t really have a lot to cover.
Add a touch of Perfect Teint Illuminator no. 8 under the eyes, on the cheekbones and central forehead and down the bridge of the nose for some added luminosity, and blend well. For a soft natural finish, set your base with the lightest touch of High Definition Loose Powder, and spray a soft mist of Oxyvital Tonic Spray all over to add a sensation of freshness and leave the complexion looking relaxed and clean.
EYES
For the eyes, we’ll start with our trusted friend, Eyeshadow Base, all over the eyelid, and along the lower lash-line with a cotton bud. Start off by blending Eyeshadow no. 210 all over the mobile eyelid, till just past the crease. This will add a sheer luminosity and will help to blend the matte eyeshadow effortlessly. Next, apply Eyeshadow no. 517 on the outer third of the eyelid, and blend softly inwards and upwards till just past the crease. Apply the same shadow along the lower lash-line, and join it with the upper lid, blending it very softly outwards in a very subtle wing shape. Blend very well for a sheer, natural yet elegant result. Highlight the brow-bone with Eyeshadow no. 551, and blend softly downwards into the brown color that we’ve already applied.
For the inner corner, use Eye Designer no. 44 for a touch of brilliance and a discreet sparkle. As you can see, we’ve used matt, shimmery and sparkling colors: this adds more dimension to the whole look, and enhances the play with light and shadow. Line your waterline with
Kajal Liner no. 04, and go through your eyebrows with the Eyebrow Filler for extra definition.

For the lashes, start off with Lash Booster, let dry for a few seconds, and then apply the Ultra Volume Mascara for thick, luscious lashes. Thanks to the Lash Booster, one coat of mascara will look triple as luscious and thick.
LIPS
For the lips, start off with Lifting Lip Stylo. This will add an amazing smoothness to your lips. Next, line your lips with Soft Lip Liner Waterproof no. 04, and fill in your lips with it as well. Remember, layering color adds dimension and texture. For the lip makeup, we have 3 options: for a quick and easy look in just a few seconds, apply the Lip Lacquer no. 24. This product will give you the coverage of a lipstick and the luster of a gloss. The second option would be to apply High Performance Lipstick no. 434, and fix it with Magic Fixfor a kiss-proof, long-lasting effect. High Performance Lipstick is very creamy, so remember to apply two coats of Magic Fix for the best possible results. The third option is to use Lip Brilliance no. 29, for a colored yet muted look on the lips; this is perfect for you if you feel that strong lips and eyes together are a bit too
much for your complexion.
much for your complexion.
BLUSHER
Finish off with a touch of Blusher no. 05, a lovely coral color that will add a peachy, fresh touch to the whole look, coordination the lips, eyes and complexion perfectly.

For something a little extra - Take your High Precision Liquid Liner or Long Lasting Liner in Black and draw a leopard print design over the eye shadows for a dramatic effect. I love these copper and bronze tones on blue eyes as they make the eyes dazzle. I wore this look to work a few months ago after seeing it in a story in Vogue magazine and received loads of compliments. Add false lashes for extra drama. Perfect for your next party on night out on the town!
