70's Revival

Step back in time, think Studio 54. Big, tousled and crimped hair, glossy lips and metallic, shimmery eyes were seen at New York fashion week. Models eyes gleamed with mega metallics with the golden, sultry eye a favourite look.

The new bronze is sexy and sultry, yet understated with touches of light and glints of gold as not everyone can wear a heavy eye all the time. To translate this from red carpet to real life, apply pencil in gold, blue, silver close to the lashes and smudge outwards. A warm, gilded glow is the most flatttering look for all complexions, compliments fashions current  nude mood and is another simple make up look for day time. Keep metallic shades away from the creases as it can highlight fine lines around the eyes.

Add more metallic shimmer to the lid, darken and elongate the socket line and rim the eyes with black liner for a more glamour night time look.

Get the look
Prep: Apply and SPF moisturizer to a clean skin to hydrate and protect. Melt into the skin with your fingertips. Get even with a primer, the barrier created by a primer helps ensure that foundation stays colour true all day.

Flawless skin: Foundation and concealer aren't just for hiding imperfections. Used correctly they can also warm up the complexion and add depth to the face. Create a flawless base and even out skin tone with full, luminous coverage. Luminous foundations are a great way to brighten dull looking skin as they reflect light, which helps to diminish small imperfections.

Illuminate: Dot light reflective concealer under the eyes, around the nose and along the brow bone and use a creamy camoflauge concealer onto blemishes. Use an illuminator for soft, glistening, glowing skin. A hint of shiny gloss along the brow bone and cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose brings a healthy freshness all over.

Define: To contour, shade beneath the cheekbone, in the socket line and under the jawline using a shade darker than your foundation for enviable bone structure.
Embrace bronzer, choose a gold based formula and avoid orange options. Add a healthy glow with warm touches of bronze, gold and toffee.Use long, sweeping actions with a blush or bronzing brush from the centre of your face, blending outwards to your hair and jawline. Highlight the cheekbones with a sheer, peach tone to give skin some shade and light for a glow and not an overall dark and muddy look.

Shade: Make the eyes the feature of this look. Eyes are warm with a sultry edge. Build eye definition with colour. All eye colours are enhanced by burnished shadow tones. Use a bronze shade as a wash over the eye area, blending it up to the crease and use a lighter, metallic golden tone on the lid and add a little to the inner corner of each eye.
Create warmth with layers of rich shades.Yellow and rose golds are great for highlighting, while copper tones are great for defining and champagne for highlighting. Add a final touch of radiance with highlighter under the brows. Finish with a dusting of beige and bronze shadow along the lower lashlines, to offeset dark circles. Define eyes with mocha liner along the top lash line and line the inner rim with white kohl pencil to make eyes look bigger and brighter.

Lash Up: Finish with 2 coats of black mascara to freshly curled lashes to frame the rest of the look.

Brow power: A full brow gives a softness and frames the face. The skinny brow is no longer in: it's very ageing and sever. Choose an ash brown tone powder or pencil and apply with a stiff angled brush to blend and soften.

Gloss lips: Line them with a flesh toned pencil and add a sheer nude colour, high shine formula. Dot some gold shimmer onto the pout of the lips. this will refelct the light and make lips look fuller.
